Came for the Kennedy Krieger Festival of Trees (which is such a cute thing to do around the holidays, plus it goes towards a great cause) and we had a great time. Of course we got some treats (the moon shine chocolates truffle logs were AMAZING) and played some games which was fun. I've been to the Festival of Trees a few times but this was the first year we purchased a tree. We bought my dad a tree donated by the Marines. It came with lights, garland, ornaments, a topper, and skirt and was cheaper than some artificial trees at local retailers and that's just the tree not even including all the decorations. They were much more affordable than i was expecting. My dad loved it. Pick up was quick and easy. Definitely gets you in the holiday spirit 🥰

We came to Trifeckta and it was AWESOME! It would make too much sense to have signs for parking i guess.

Try to come every year to the Irish Fest. It is great that they have it indoors, easy parking, nice layout, ATM machines. The fest itself is such a fabulous time. Food, so much music and dance. Great vendors, history, story telling, activities for the kids. If you haven't been, go!

I always love the state fair!! Security was so intent on me taking the mace off my key ring, but they didn't say anything about the small box cutter, I tried to say something but he told me to move along. We had a great time, loved the birthing center, loved seeing what everyone had made all year in quilts and clothing, and 4-H.

It's been a while since I attended the Festival of Trees event. Very nice selection of decorated trees where many seemed to have been sold quickly. The ballet dancers and other live events held at the time were also a pleasant addition to the event.

On March 9th, I attended the MD Home & Garden Show for 2025 at the Timonium Fairgrounds (MD), with my son and a dear friend. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, wandering around to view all of the landscapers, vendors and crafters.
I was disappointed that there were so few landscaping displays, compared to previous years. I admit that I primarily enjoy wandering through them for an early taste of spring... flowers, budding trees, bubbling water features.
I was also disappointed in the food court area, which has a single, new vendor this year. My son and friend always looked forward to the pit beef sandwiches, which were absent from the menu. The prices are always unreasonably high, but this year was ridiculous: $9 hot dogs and $10 pizza slices. Not for me. My son and I split an $8 order of chicken tenders and fries; the chicken was rubbery and stringy. My friend had a spicy Italian sausage on a sub roll, that was extremely spicy (no option for mild sausage). Bottled waters were $2 each.
The same goes for the craft vendors. While many had fun and interesting wares, very few were truly unique, and the prices were insane. I did spring for a couple of $2 bookmarks, and two healthy Calathea houseplants at $5 apiece. The laser cut wooden maps on offer at one vendor were really nice, and somewhat unique. Ireland in a shaped wooden cutout of the island, with individual counties in shades of green; a colorful map of the kingdoms from Game of Thrones, and when I asked, a map of Tolkien's Middle Earth (less colorful but still artistic). $350 for Middle Earth... nope. The crafter said it takes him a week to laser cut the maps; they are not hand-cut. He was awfully nice, though. We were all disappointed that the petting zoo had left the day before. I liked the entrepreneur Girl Scouts who set up a cookie sales table in the show! And some gardening class operators who were knowledgeable, friendly, and not condescending. I also liked the wild bird accessories vendor, who answered questions, had a lot of brochures (for old fogies like me), and had interesting bird feeders, birdhouses, etc.
We spent about 3 hours at the Show, down from our typical 4-5 hours of previous years. Again, overall it was a nice outing, and the entry ticket price was reasonable at $10/adults ($12 at the gate). My friend stuck to a pre-planned Bonsai tree purchase, and my son chose a pair of Boho pants with a mushroom print. However, despite enjoying the great company, I was underwhelmed by the overall experience.

It's very good and very cheap, but you have to be prepared to walk a lot and drink a lot of water.

It was the most fabulous and enduring event I ever attended. My second year attending.
