Fantastic work! Called SMECO out to handle a branch that was growing within inches of dropping on my houses powerline. They came out, took out several branches, smooth cuts, even removed the branches for me. Thanks!

UPDATE Well wouldn't you know it. My electric bill has doubled. This is the reason I left the feedback in the first place. The first feedback was left over a week ago. Just enough time to get everyone on this billing cycle. Just wondering if anyone else's bill doubled? Well I am blessed to be able to pay mine but some can't. I find it interesting a representative was going around to homes to check the meters before this heat wave coming. Once again our bill will go up.

I recently moved out of my house, and it has been vacant the last few months while we prepare for new renters. To my surprise, despite using far less electricity the house, the bill was actually more this year but I thought maybe it had to do with increased prices. Then I received a comparison letter in which smeco stayed I used even more kilowatts than last year. How could that be? It Can’t. Because we know, without a shadow of a doubt that no one was in there, using as much electricity. This can only mean smeco is lying and commuting fraud. When I called to discuss it, I got told there was a password on my account and it was not the password to my login account. I didn’t know it because I’ve never set up a password like this. Which means smeco supposedly put an unknown password on my account so I can’t discuss their theft. Now I’m gonna have to go down there and show my ID… all of this to say it’s clearly a stall tactic because they’ve been caught lying about usage.

I have been speaking with Jennifer ( not sure which location she works out of in Southern Maryland) over the phone about our electric bill, usage etc. Wow what a great experience, not only was she extremely down to earth, personable, she also seemed genuine to want to help figure out a solution for my recent concerns for our account. She expressed knowledgable ways to save energy and cost, she even took time to review our account and then called me back the following day to my account in great deatil. She also informed me of a free service offered by Smeco to help customers drill down on possible future usage vs cost savings. With over 20 years + a smeco customer, by far hands down the BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! Thank you Jennifer for your time. God Bless🙏

They turned off the wrong breaker and were informed of the problem hours ago. Now me and 2 children have to find a last minute place because they couldn’t fix the issues when it was brought to attention. Over $500 in food gone and no money because it’s the first of the month. But thank you soooo much for telling me nothing was wrong on y’all’s end. 🙃

Honest, professional and reliable organization. The customer service offered by the staff is nowhere to be found. In matters of taking actions the company has been performing better than Home Owners Associations in St Mary's county in reference to simple street light bulb replacement. Quick service driven by a proficient workforce at all times, especially under unusual circumstances (natural disasters, power outages, uncommon electric problems). If you are a resident of Southern Maryland, you're lucky, SMECO got your back!

I have had problems several times in the last year and the response by SMECO was top notch. They were extremely quick to come out and determine the problem and make repairs. They were very professional and courteous and kept me informed with the duration of the repairs.

Disgusting experience, at the very best. Customer service is rude, disrepectful and constantly lying, Rating zero or even the negative rating will be more proper. Nothing more needs to be said.
