I've been living in this apartment building for almost three years, and I have no serious complaints. Shortly after I moved in, new management took over, and the improvements have been incredible. The leasing office is proactive, responsive, and genuinely cares about residents.

Earlier this year, my roommate situation changed unexpectedly, and with six months left on my lease, the leasing team went above and beyond to accommodate me. I was able to move into a newly upgraded unit with improved flooring, carpeting, and appliances. The transition was seamless, and I truly appreciate their effort.

Beyond the well-maintained property, the leasing staff stands out. They're not just great at their jobs but also kind, understanding, and considerate. I love living here and highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a great place to call home!

My boyfriend and I have been living here for almost a year! Here is my personal review so far:

Staff 5/5: Yeimi is always checking in with us and is always willing to help us. We are fairly kept to ourselves but our interactions with her always very friendly and it means a lot that she knows a lot of tenants!

Pool 5/5: best place to hangout while it is open! It does not get crowded and everyone who attends the pool is very respectful and mindful of each other. If you have little ones, they always have a lifeguard on duty.

Gym 4/5: it gets the job done if you need to get a quick workout and are not able to go to your gym. One of the treadmills was not working for a little bit but they replaced it with a newer and better version.

Elevators 3/5: every now and then there will be issues with the elevators and will cause them to be very slow or will only have one working at a time. They try to communicate with everyone in the building as soon as they can but it is still a bit of an inconvenience

Parking 5/5: personally have not had any bad experiences. Sure, it's expensive but it is around the same as what other buildings charge

Apartment 4/5: we personally really like our apartment. We get a lot of natural light and have not had a lot of issues with appliances (if we have, maintenance is usually here the same day fixing it!). Only thing is walls are definitely thin! So definitely worth to reach out to your neighbors if they are being loud or reach out to the front desk staff so they can help you.

The issue we have had living here is the fire alarms. We've had one go off around 1am and I also had to leave a work meeting during another one (both malfunctions not an actual emergency). We thankfully haven't had one go off in a while (knock on wood) but during the colder months it felt like it was happening every other month.

Overall, as tenants that are kept to themselves we like living here! Our apartment feels like home, we feel heard and cared for by the staff here, and we hope we can continue to feel the same for the remaining of our time here! 🙂

Context: Resident since 2016. I am invested in and care about this community, and my review is thorough and fair.

Advisement: It’s concerning that many recent reviews are written by people who have only toured the building. Additionally, offering discounted rent deals to prospective tenants in exchange for a review misrepresents the true cost of living here and is unfair to long-term residents paying rent in full. I encourage prospective tenants to carefully filter and sort through reviews to get an accurate picture.

Pros:
1. Responsive staff, including front office and maintenance.
2. Recent improvements to common areas, such as the gym and reinstated cybercafé.
3. Routine social events (e.g., book swaps, holiday parties) for those interested.

Cons:
1. Hefty & Questionable Rent Increases – Lease renewals come with steep hikes and confusing calculations. The stated percentage increase often doesn’t match the actual math. Additionally, Maven’s renewal deadlines are the tight, leaving little time for reflection.

2. Lack of a 24-Hour Concierge – This has impacted safety, package management, guest parking, and lockouts. Previously, lockouts were easily resolved; now, being locked out is a serious issue if it’s outside of 9AM-6PM. The concierge also provided 24/7 access to amenities (with the exception of the pool, which was once open as late as 10pm), whereas now, access is restricted to the office staff’s business hours.

3. Parking Registration Pitfall – The OnlineParkingPass system does not automatically renew with your lease. Even if you're paying for parking each month, an unregistered car can (and will) be towed to Gaithersburg in the middle of the night.

Suggestions:
1. Reinstate the rentable guest unit ($100/night) on the second floor, a well-appreciated amenity under previous management. This could also be a way for management to receive funding rather than steep hikes in rent for residents.
2. Improve outdoor property maintenance for a more polished appearance.

Maven at Wheaton is such an easy place to live! My onboarding process was so simple and went smoothly without issue, took less than a week for me to get approved! I was given multiple opportunities to view my unit and was thoroughly impressed with all the amenities! My apartment layout is very open and modern and I really love that. Additionally the staff always take serious any concerns or issues and make sure to address them promptly.

Living at the maven has been one of the best housing experiences for me so far. The building is safe, clean, and neighbors are very friendly. Yeimi at leasing is such a sweetheart who will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you need and any issues are addressed right away. They also throw great community events that help you meet other residents. Definitely recommend living at The Maven!

I moved into this complex a little over a week ago and it has been a smooth sailing since my first visit here. Nikole and the team were very attentive and patient. Everything is well maintained and clean. I am very happy to have moved here.

I have had a terrible experience living at Maven at Wheaton, and I would strongly advise against renting here. First off, the leasing staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They are unhelpful, dismissive, and seem to have no interest in addressing tenant concerns. It’s been impossible to get a straight answer or any genuine assistance from them.

In addition, the building has a major bug problem. I’ve had multiple encounters with insects, and despite complaining several times, nothing was done to resolve the issue. It’s unacceptable for a supposedly “luxury” building to have such poor maintenance.

The noise level is another huge issue. The walls are paper-thin, and you can hear everything from neighbors talking to footsteps above you. If you value peace and quiet, this place is not for you.

Lastly, rent increases are outrageous. Every year the rent goes up by an excessive amount, and it’s become clear that the management doesn’t care about its tenants—only about making as much money as possible. Overall, this place is overpriced for the lack of quality and customer service. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I went in for a tour and the complex is nice and the location is also good, but meeting the property manager (Nikole ?) was the main reason I decided to not lease here. She was rude and made me feel like asking any question was a burden and was condescending. I got the feeling that if I were to lease there, she wouldn't be any help. As a potential tenant, I should feel the most comfortable with the person welcoming me to the complex and that was not the case here. Please do better because it's sad that its such a nice complex with rude management,
