Monica was the best! She was so nice and helpful! The other two ladies in the store were just as awesome. I was in and out in no time and made to feel like an appreciated customer. Their selection is just incredible with unique accent decor too! I’ll definitely be back!

Sarah McLain spent many hours over several weeks helping us pick out all the lighting fixtures for our new construction home (the extended timeline was our indecisiveness and busy schedule, not due to anything on her part). I cannot speak highly enough of her, including her expertise, knowledge, professionalism, communication, organization, patience, and genuine kindness. She provided a phenomenal experience during a stressful time in our lives. My husband and I would highly recommend her, and we are thrilled with the lighting package we have in our new home. Rude first impression greeting
Female clerk stated that “we cater to ‘certain types of clients here’ ‘mostly older ones whereas our other store caters to mostly younger people’ ?
When asked to see collections — ‘You are just going to have to narrow that down - we have literally thousands’.
She did not care to get up and show us anything— rude, having a bad day?
‘Mathis only caters to certain people’
Obviously we weren’t ‘those’ people

Counter sales was very helpful and they had everything in stock.
There is a difference in the material quality you get here verses the big box stores.
Just know they are an electrical SUPPLY company. Not electrical service company or inspector. What I mean is they will provide you what you ask for. You really need to know what you need for your particular electrical job or project. I am speaking to the non qualified electricians, or average home owners. Lots of us can do basic electrical work at home. They may make a suggestion but understand it puts them in a bad situation if they tell you what to use based on what you tell them and it doesn't work out. So just be sure of what you need and if your not sure get the advise of a local qualified electrician. You may then just decide to hire the electrician. Just some helpful advice.
Mathes is a great place. Both the Foley and Pensacola locations.

I can't begin to adequately express how impressed I am with Sarah McLain of Mathes Lighting. Not only does she posses and immense knowledge of lighting and all of the intricacies, she is also a delight to work with. I have been working with lighting showrooms for 15 years and have found Mathes to be head and shoulders above the rest.

I went to Mathew in Foley to look for a light and it was a waste of my time. The man who was very bothered by me being there was no help. If this is the best they can do it may be time to close your doors. I will not be going back to this store for any thing ever again there are other places to shop for lighting.

I've only used the electrical supply desk, but the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Thier prices meet or beat Lowe's and home Depot. They will also special order parts if they don't stock what you need.
