My basement needed a TV upgrade and HiTech came to the rescue. My custom cabinets were originally designed around a large low resolution DLP television and I knew I wanted a newer LED TV that was 1080p or 4k, but didn't know how to make it work with my cabinets. I contacted HTU and they knew exactly what to do. They have a master carpenter who reworked the cabinets by adding a base cabinet below and a false wall behind where my new TV is mount.

It looks so much nicer than my old SONY DLP television that I held onto for way too long. I wish I had upgraded to true HD much sooner. The cabinets were custom built and painted onsite; the LED television fits like a glove.

If you're thinking about doing an A/V project involving a TV, custom cabinets, built-ins, mantels and more be sure to consider HiTech Upgrades. They are a local firm in Severna Park and don't rush anything. They will work within your budget and your schedule. No push salesmen to deal with either. If you need Ring, Sonos, Nest or just some help hooking Alexa up to your lights - Hitech Upgrades is the only place you need to call. For me - it was really nice to build up a relationship with the company so when it’s time to add on I didn’t have to shop around. They just make it happen. I went a bit beyond the standard setup - and couldn’t be happier.

I was in the market for a new AV receiver, so I contacted Chris to recommend some good value options for my setup. He gave me a few options and I choose the Onkyo TX-NT646 which was on close out due to new models coming in. The receiver is great, simplified the connectivity to the TV and has Bluetooth connectivity so I can play songs directly from my phone.
