EIS is going out of business. The quality of their service is consistently and sharply dropping, as you can see by their rank among competitors when it comes to cold hard statistics such as successful repair, timely maintenance, and renewed contracts (with clients).
As you may already be well aware, investing in a printing and/or scanning device is like investing in a living thing. The true cost comes from supplies, repair, and maintenance. The catch is you (or your company) will need to hire specialists to meet these needs. EIS is one of the worst companies to buy, rent, and/or setup contracts with. The number one reason you shouldn't start business with EIS is because they are going out of business. Spending a lot of money on a contract or a machine with a company that isn't around long enough to fulfill their end of the bargain is a terrible idea.
When you also consider how poorly their success with repairing and maintaining the machines they sold you a contract for is, you should avoid EIS like you would avoid any other rip-off that falls on your door step.
Finally, and this is merely a matter of opinion, I find their ownership and management very unethical.

I have known EIS for a long time, and I can say this with confidence that the company is very service oriented or customer-centric. The company is not going out of business, and on the contrary, it is looking to expand into areas of E-Commerce and hiring more consultants. The review below by David is totally unsubstantiated and without any merit. Mr Qasim Tarin (the Founder) is always available for reaching to his customers when it comes to solving any major issues. It is amazing what some people will say for the wrong reasons, and with too little knowledge or information.

EIS, Inc. has been in business for 24 years and has the full support of multi-billion dollar companies like Xerox and Savin/Ricoh; plus EIS, Inc. is expanding and opening new offices in Santa Clara and San Joaquin Counties. Plus, EIS, Inc. is very community focused through its EIS Foundation, Inc. that supports Bay Area youth.

The Owner of EIS, Inc. has consistently reached out to support young people and has sponsored several Manufacturing Day events that included bus-loads of High School students; Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin Chambers of Commerce; political figures including Mayors, State representatives, U.S, Congressional representatives, media representatives and U.S. Patent Office representatives, as well as new start-up businesses including their owners and employees; all gathered on the premises of EIS, Inc.’s business location and parking lot.

The attitude of EIS, Inc.’s owner is: “Please talk to me if you are not happy with us for any reason. My door is always open to my Bay Area business community neighbors, customers, students in need, and employees."
