The website had to have been designed in the 80s by a moose. I mean… it is just awful. After you pay (which the website does not make easy), it takes forever before the invoice shows as complete and is never really clear. Other than that, the service and price are good! However the website is just so bad, I couldn’t justify any more than one star.

Joe is a nice guy on the phone, but this company is bad. I’m paying the same amount for a 1bdr apartment that I do for a 3 bedroom house, they take a security deposit to start service, I was late on my first bill and had to call in because they sent it to an address I never told them (though they were charging me for the right address?), when I called at the end of my lease to cancel they had a PO Box on file (I’ve never had a PO Box), every time I call I have had to wait on hold for 20 minutes or longer, they have to schedule a person to come out and physically read the meter every month and no availability for a closing reading for over a week after you move out. I’m all for someone giving some competition to AEP but they need to get it together and get out of the Stone Age.

Been a customer for 15 years - they are great and significantly cheaper than AEP. Just wanted to write a review because they have so many negative ones for some reason... My power has only been out like once in the last 10 years, and it was when the entire city lost power.

To begin with, they setup my account with a billing address from 8 years ago. I nor the person I spoke with Ever mentioned it during the setup and never mentioned it when I called in a month later asking why I wasn’t receiving my bills. In fact, that second call I was told that I didn’t receive a bill due to a meter being read that day or the next day.

I finally spoke with someone today who informed me that my bills were going to that billing address from 8 years ago and had a wrong phone number. If it wasn’t for covid I’d have late fees due to their incompetence. The 3rd from today was better but told me I could setup my online account he sent me the email. Not true.

This is exactly why we will NEVER have nice things let alone socialism in this country. If you can’t manage nor hire competent employees to simply run a very small utility outfit, no citizen will ever trust the government to anything more.

Thanks for giving capitalists and hard right wingers the ammunition to stop any sort of progress. Congratulations City of Columbus.

Frequent outages, 6/10 per year. I've been on Columbus City electric for over 40 yrs at this address on Heyl. Have queried AEP several times about getting switched over. Always "Nope". The house next door is AEP. The savings isn't worth the lousy service.

In the past year we have lost power 6 times while everyone else who has AEP had power. Worst electric power company I have ever had!!!

2/26 - less than 1 month later our power is out again. No one is picking up the phone. They don’t even deserve 1 star!!!

Power goes out several times a month, late at night. They do not have a working number to report power outages.

If you're unfortunate enough to have them, get a generator or a battery bank.

city of Columbus Light utility company is not a good light company. they will mail out a discontinue of service if you bill is less than 19$ if you don't pay balance on your light bill.
