So cool to go and see! As long as the tide isn't in you can go walk up to the lighthouse! Really pretty view and neat things to see! There is a light keeper living there so remember to be respectful.

This lighthouse is really cool. If you have your family with you, watch the tide go out to reveal your path. It's a cute lighthouse where time has basically stopped on the mini island. You can get a tour for a small donation and the group is usually about four people. As tempting as it is, please do your best not to mess with the wildlife or the plants. The area is absolutely beautiful and doesn't deserve vandalization. You can find all sorts of creatures in the tide pools sometimes, look for agates or any other cool thing that's washed up in the area. If it's whale season, you might even see whale sign from the side or rear of the lighthouse. The rules clearly state not to bring your dog, but if you're a rebel, please clean up after them. Also, there is no wheelchair access.

A MUST SEE! If you pay attention to low tide times, go then! you can walk across to the lighthouse for a tour. We were there at high tide day before but you can't get across. We're so glad we went back. Probably the best lighthouse tour we've ever been on. Informative, so much history & the staff were very knowledgeable and answered questions by several. 5+ Stars! This is an active lighthouse. A suggested $5 donation per person is asked & very much worth every penny.

Beneath the ever-changing skies of Crescent City lies the Battery Point Lighthouse, a sentinel perched on the edge of the Pacific, guarding its secrets with weathered walls and whispers of the sea. Visiting at low tide is an otherworldly experience, the path to the island appearing like a bridge summoned by forces unknown. Once there, the air seems heavier, filled with the haunting melody of the whales’ song, carried by the wind from the vast ocean beyond. On lucky days, their silhouettes break the surface, as if drawn to the lighthouse’s enigmatic pull.

The tides themselves feel unnatural—strange currents swirl around the island, as though the water conspires to conceal something. And then there’s the lighthouse keeper, a mysterious and incredibly kind figure who greets visitors with a polite but knowing smile. Local lore speaks of treasure hidden somewhere on the property, rumored to have been buried long ago by smugglers or even pirates. The keeper’s cryptic comments and sidelong glances make you wonder: does he know where it is? Or is he its final guardian?

Battery Point isn’t just a lighthouse; it’s a portal to mysteries untold, where the sea and sky blend into a tale yet to be fully written. But beware—the ocean keeps her secrets well.

We've traveled to a lot of lighthouses and we enjoyed walking out to this lighthouse. You do have to check the tide tables to make sure you go at low tide. This is a working lighthouse with volunteers who live for one month at the lighthouse, where they keep it maintained. Gene and Linda were great. It costs $5 for adults and is worth the money. There was also a docent who took us to the top of the lighthouse. That was fun and very informative. You can only go inside the lighthouse during certain hours so check before you go. If they are closed, you can still walk around the outside, but keep in mind the tide and they close at sunset.

I simply walked over to it from Battery Point and walked around the grounds. I walked inside but there were so many people I walked back out. Very small inside but very cool on the outside. I did not pay as I did not take the $5 lighthouse tour.
